Chandigarh, 17 November (Trinew)
DGP Shatrujit Kapur will now hand over the report related to action against 272 Investigating Officers (IO) of Haryana Police to Home Minister Anil Vij. The report has been sent to the Police Headquarters by the Commissioners of Police and Superintendents of Police of most of the districts. The report was expected on Friday, but the report was not given by the DGP. It is believed that the DGP may submit a detailed report to the Home Minister in the next few days.
Vij had ordered the suspension of 372 investigating officers. Of these, about 100 IOs have been suspended. Sources say that the Superintendents of Police of many districts have sent such a report, after which it will not be easy to suspend the IO. Some police officers have also argued that they already lack IO. If the action of suspension is taken then the work of police investigation can stop. There are also many cases which are pending due to legal complications. It is not considered correct to directly hold the IO responsible in such cases. It is very possible that the DGP will now meet the Home Minister Anil Vij after getting information about the district wise case so that he can be apprised of the situation. On the other hand, Vij still hasn’t started working on the files of the health department. Last day he also met CM Manohar Lal Khattar in Chandigarh. Vij has registered all objections before the CM. For about a month and a half, they have kept the files of the health department pending.
