AMLO’s morning: April 5, 2024

This Friday April 5from the National Palace, in Mexico City, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), president of Mexico, offered his traditional press conference, known as the morningbefore the various representatives of the media.

Regrets attack on WKC volunteers in Gaza Strip; demands to stop “inhuman” war

AMLO regretted the attack on a convoy of volunteers from the World Central Kitchen (WCK) organization in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli government, which left seven dead; He demanded that hostilities cease in that area of the Middle East.

“(WCK) does social work in places where there is hunger, where tragedies are suffered, and he went to the Gaza Strip to bring food. “He already recognized the Israeli government that due to a mistake, according to that version, they bombed the kitchen, the camp, and murdered seven volunteers,” he noted. AMLO.

AMLO He sent a hug of solidarity to the Spanish chef José Andrés and the relatives of the victims of the attack, since when the Hurricane Otis disaster occurred in Acapulco, Guerrero, in October of last year.

“I send a hug to their families and also to (José) Andrés, because they came during the tragedy of Hurricane Otis in Acapulco, and they set up kitchens to feed the needy people in Acapulco, so I send a hug to him and the relatives of the victims of the deceased,” he pointed out. AMLO.

AMLO He demanded a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and described the war in that area as “inhumane.”

“I conclude by calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, enough of this inhuman war, regardless of who is to blame,” he declared. AMLO.

“What I have no doubt about is that many innocent people are suffering and the war has to stop, so that human beings no longer continue to die,” he said. AMLO.

The Israeli army dismissed two commanders for their responsibility in the attack on a World Central Kitchen convoy last Monday in the center of the Gaza Strip, which occurred due to a chain of “serious errors” according to its own investigation .

The investigation concluded that Israeli forces identified two “gunmen” in the aid trucks as the convoy was heading to a warehouse in Deir al Balah, in the center of the enclave, and, when the vehicles left the site after unloading, “one of the commanders wrongly assumed that the gunmen were inside the vehicles and that they were Hamas terrorists.”
