Chief Minister Manohar Lal said on Sunday that the people of eastern India have made an important contribution to Haryana’s progress. His diligence and expertise have been instrumental in sustaining industries and promoting agricultural development in the state. He said that despite adverse weather, the people of Purvanchal work tirelessly day and night to contribute to important infrastructure projects.

He announced the construction of three ghats dedicated to Chhath Puja in Panipat district. 5 crore rupees will be spent on their construction. He said that for clean water during Chhath Puja, a 700-feet ghat at the cost of Rs 2 crore at Avalana distributory, a 300-feet ghat at a cost of Rs 1 crore near the thermal channel on Asandh Road and at Drain No. 2 near Babarpur bridge. Another ghat of 300 feet will be constructed at a cost of Rs.2 crore. He also announced the construction of a Sun Temple between two canals on the land of Marana village. For this purpose the work of transfer of village land is under process. The Chief Minister also announced a voluntary grant of Rs 21 lakh for the construction of the Sun Temple to be built after the successful transfer of land for this purpose.
On this occasion, BJP MP in Delhi Manoj Tiwari said that the demands of the people of the eastern part of Haryana were ignored in the previous governments. Till date no government has worried about these people. A statue of Hemu will be installed at the Rewari railway station
