Bihar: 60 feet long bridge stolen in broad daylight, SIT constituted for investigation

A major theft incident has been carried out in Sasaram, Bihar. Here the thieves together made a 60 feet long bridge over the Son river disappear. This is a historic bridge, from which about 20 tons of iron have been stolen.

This bridge is built on the Son river in Sasaram. The length of the bridge is 60 feet, the width is 10 feet and this bridge is built 12 feet high. This bridge is historical because it was constructed between 1972 and 1975.

The thieves uprooted this bridge in broad daylight and all the debris was carried on vehicles. Local people allege that around 20 tonnes of iron has been taken out from the bridge. They say that those who uprooted the bridge called themselves employees of the Irrigation Department.

After this incident, the Assistant Engineer has asked JE to register an FIR in the police station and a SIT has been constituted to investigate the matter.
