In 1997 Disney released a direct-to-television adaptation of the “Rodgers & Hammerstein Cinderella” with Brandy Norwood in the titular role and Whitney Houstonn as the Fairy Godmother.
Now, 26 years later, Brandy will once again wear the glass slippers in “Descendants: Rise of Red”a fantasy film that will arrive on Disney + with a stellar cast and the return of other artists to roles full of nostalgia.

Joining Norwood will also be his Charming prince, now Rey, the actor paolo montalbanwho rules alongside Cinderella, reigns at last.

The film, which is part of the Disney Channel franchise, starring Dove Cameron, will tell the story of the relationship between Red, played by Kylie Cantrallthe impetuous teenage daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, played by Mia Bakerdaughter of Cinderella and Charming, who have to travel to the past to prevent the destruction of their kingdom.
It also features performances by Morgan Dudler, China Anne McClain, and Melani Paxson, who takes on the role of Houston’s Fairy Godmother. The film is directed by Jennifer Phang.
