Rajasthan: Bus touches electric wire in Jaisalmer, 3 died, 8 serious due to current

In Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on 5th April, an electrical wire was touched by a private passenger bus and 3 people died. At the same time, 8 people have got serious burns. The accident happened near village of Polji Ki Dehri, 17 km from Jaisalmer. All the people sitting in the bus had gone to the fair of the folk deity.

Prima facie the negligence of the bus driver is coming to the fore. The bus is said to be overloaded. The passengers were also kept on the roof. All those who died in this accident were on the roof of the bus.

All the people injured in the accident have been admitted to Jawahar Hospital in Jaisalmer. The condition of five is said to be critical. A huge crowd gathered in the hospital due to the accident. SP Collector and MLA have also reached the hospital. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed grief over the accident.

According to the information received about the accident, work is going on to increase the height of the road near Polji’s dairy, due to which the wires hang down and the passengers sitting on the roof of the bus got hit by it. All the dead and scorched people are being told of Meghwal Samaj.
