Senior doctor Abhishek B Dagar of Vinoo Eye Hospital, Delhi says that Glaucoma is also called “silent thief”. This is similar to the way lifestyle related diseases are increasing these days. He also said that unlike other eye diseases, Glaucoma is detected late and by the time it is detected, eyesight has weakened and cannot be recovered.

In Glaucoma, the pressure inside the eyes increases significantly. This causes damage to the nerves of the eyes. This nerve transmits vision information to the brain. If it is not treated, cataract may occur and eyesight may be lost forever.
