Chivas without sports director? They are looking for Fernando Hierro in Saudi Arabia

The rumors of possible departures of Chivas in the middle of the tournament reignite in this Clausura 2024. Now from the newspaper AL-Riyadiah in Saudi Arabia, Fernando Hierro is put as the main candidate to be the new sports director of the team: Al-Nassr. So far it is only a rumor that is taken from the media in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Nassr has become the most important team in the media in the league in the last year with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo with the team. In addition to having made several important signings in recent months with David Ospina, Aymeric Laporte, Marcelo Brozovic, Ótavio and Sadio Mané, all being leading players in great teams in Europe a couple of years ago.

At the moment this information from the Asian country should only be taken as a rumor, because Fernando Hierro has a contract at Chivas for more years. And in the following days, a position should come from both the Spanish manager and the Guadalajara Sports Club.

Fernando Hierro arrived at Chivas in November 2022 to take over the sports management of the team and came to make a revolution from within, which little by little has been giving its results. At the beginning of his management he hired Veljko Paunovic as a strategist and he gave great results by leading the team to the final in his first semester. In his year of work, the Serbian made a record for points in the regular season.

In addition to the work in the first division where he has already chosen Fernando Gago as the new technical director for 2024. He has also managed to change the way of working in the basic forces, by hiring several players from other teams, to nourish the red and white team from its roots.
