Common food allergies increase risk of heart disease
Washington. Many people are sensitive to certain types of foods. They cannot digest these substances or become allergic to them. Till now such problems were limited only to digestion or allergies, but recently a research warned that the problem of common food allergies can prove fatal for the heart as well. This research from the University of Virginia, USA, has been published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Researchers monitored 5,374 people for a long time and found that the risk of heart diseases from common food allergies is higher than smoking and diabetes. According to research, people who cannot digest cow’s milk or other food items also have an increased risk of heart diseases. Many people start having problems like stomach ache, bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation or vomiting after eating certain things. This is called food sensitivity or food intolerance. In common food allergies the immune system reacts. Due to this, symptoms like swelling or rashes are seen on the skin.
