Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Tuesday told officials that National Narcotics Coordination Committee meetings should be organized every month at the district level. Also, their reports should be uploaded on the portal. Deputy Commissioner Quarterly and SDM should monitor the de-addiction centers working in the district every month and must upload its information. He said that the Cyclothon campaign run at the state level has yielded meaningful results. Therefore, Cyclothon campaign should be run at every village, block and district level. By making this campaign a part of the public, every person should be connected to it. He was presiding over the state level meeting of the sixth National Narcotics Coordination Committee in Chandigarh on Tuesday. In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department TVSN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department Dr. G. Anupama, DGP Shatrujit Kapoor, ADGP Alok Mittal, OP Singh, Director General of Medical Education and Research Department Ashima Brar, Excise and Taxation Commissioner and Secretary Ashok Meena were present. Many senior officers of various departments including Mahavir Kaushik, Special Secretary, Home Department were present. Many officers of the police department also joined the meeting online. In the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed that the reports of Deputy Commissioner and SDM of many districts are pending, they should be uploaded on the portal as soon as possible. NCB is regularly taking action to prevent drug abuse. Till now 3306 cases have been registered and 4452 persons have been arrested. 40 quintals of opium has also been seized. The Chief Secretary said that under the Haryana Police Act 2007, legal and IT consultants will be appointed in the state so that the campaign against drugs can be expedited. He directed to equip the de-addiction centers with necessary health facilities, prepare SOP for staff training and send it to other departments.
