Sonipat, 20 November (हप्र)
The e-rickshaw drivers of the city, led by the Chief Minister’s former media advisor Rajeev Jain, submitted a memorandum to the Assistant Commissioner of Traffic, Ramesh Kumar Jagalan, urging them to try to resolve the issue of unregistered e-rickshaws. After talking to Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramesh Kumar Jagalan, it was decided that all e-rickshaw drivers will be given a form in which proof of identity of the rickshaw owner and the rickshaw driver will be attached. On this basis the unique ID of the rickshaw will be generated by the police so that the rickshaw driver can be identified during the accident. The Assistant Commissioner of Police told the rickshaw pullers that the police administration is trying to curb criminal activities. Rajeev Jain said that all e-rickshaw drivers and owners have to fill the form and submit it to the traffic police station within a week. He said that earlier e-rickshaws were not registered, so no bill was maintained. Their employment will not be terminated, their registration will be done on the basis of affidavit. On this all the rickshaw pullers assured that they will fully cooperate with the police administration and get their registration done within a week.
