The results of the steps taken to empower half of Haryana’s population i.e. women are now beginning to be seen. During the nine-year tenure of the Manohar government, the schemes launched to make women economically, socially and educationally strong have yielded good results. There has been a massive decline in female feticide cases. After the implementation of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Yojana, there has also been a historic improvement in the gender ratio situation in the state.
The echoes of the decisions taken by the Haryana government regarding women have been heard in other states as well. There are many such schemes which are being studied by other states. In this episode, the participation of women in panchayati raj institutions has been increased to 50 percent. In 2014, Chief Minister Manohar Lal was given the responsibility by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to start the nationwide Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign from Haryana. The official spokesperson says that the gender ratio has improved in Haryana with the untiring efforts of the Chief Minister and the support of social organizations and Khap Panchayats. Today the sex ratio is 922 girls behind 1000 boys. Today, Haryana’s people’s thinking towards girls has changed and girls in every region are brightening the name of the state and the country.
39 schemes for the welfare of women are being run in Haryana, of which 31 are of the Haryana government and 8 are of the central government. On the initiative of the Chief Minister, a college has been established within every 20 km radius. As a result girls no longer have to go far to get higher education. The government is working towards establishing a senior secondary school within every 3 km radius. चाट्रा सुरिक्ष्ट विज्ञान जिन्जा भी जाली जा रही है is being run by the government.
The storyteller Chandra Lekha met the CM
Chandigarh (Trinew): Famous story teller Chandra Lekha met CM Manohar Lal Khattar in Chandigarh on Tuesday. Chandra Lekha is also doing the management and conservation work of cow sheds in many places. He appreciated the Chief Minister for increasing the budget for cow-protection in Haryana. Publicity Advisor of Haryana Tarun Bhandari and Hodal MLA Jagdish Nair were also present on this occasion. Chandra Lekha invited the Chief Minister for the construction and inauguration ceremony of the cow house in Hodal.
Maternity leave to contract workers
Under the outsourcing policy, maternity leave has been provided to the working women on the lines of regular employees. Special allowance of Rs.1500 per child for child care has been given to disabled women employees for the first time. 500 new model crèches are being opened for working women to take care of babies during office hours

Self Help Group is becoming important
Under the State Rural Livelihood Mission, women are becoming self-reliant by forming self-help groups. There are 56 thousand 434 women self help groups in the state. These groups are provided loans ranging from one lakh rupees to five lakh rupees at an interest rate of one percent and stamp duty is exempted. There are 10-10 women in each group. Many self-help groups have also taken the form of small scale industries. The government has so far provided financial assistance of Rs 796 crore to women’s aid groups. 151 Vita Brickey booths are allotted to women.
32 special police stations for women: The Chief Minister had started opening Mahila Thana when he assumed power, now there are 32 Mahila Thana in the state. A women’s help desk has been established in every police station. By implementing schemes like Durga Shakti App, Durga Shakti Vehicle Service, Durga Rapid Action, a sense of security has been created in women. Special recruitment is being done to increase the number of women in Haryana Police.
