G20 advantage! Delhiites will get better 5G connectivity, there will be no call drops!

G20: The G20 Summit, which is going to be held in the country’s capital Delhi, will improve the city’s telecom infrastructure. The government has said that mobile phone users can expect to experience better 5G connections and fewer call drops during and after the G20 summit in the capital. According to the NDTV report, 5G infrastructure in Delhi has been improving rapidly since the launch of 5G in the country.

It has been told in the report that one of the main reasons for better mobile connection is the installation of a large number of Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) in the capital. In the month of January alone, 5,718 5G BTS were installed in the capital. Currently 10,662 BTS are operational.

Free Wi-Fi services will be available throughout the Bharat Mandapam complex at Pragati Maidan, the main area of the G20 summit. This will provide better internet connectivity to all the participants of the summit.
To ensure that foreign nationals, dignitaries and officials visiting India during the G20 summit do not face any difficulty, the norms relating to release of mobile phone connections have been relaxed.

The Ministry of Communications had said in a statement last week that the verification would be done on the basis of passport. The main reason for relaxing the rules is that foreign guests are finding it difficult to provide an alternate number for getting a new connection. The government has told that this exemption will be given only to foreign nationals and officials coming to India for the purpose of G20 summit.

Foreign nationals visiting India during the G20 summit will also realize that mobile data is available at the lowest rate in the world in our country. Cheap data means that users are able to use more and more internet. Reliance Jio’s figures show that each of its users uses around 25GB of data per month.

Significantly, the G20 summit will be held in India on 9 and 10 September.
