Chihuahua.- The underpass at the intersection of Avenida Nueva España and Fuentes Mares was inaugurated by the State Governor, María Eugenia Campos Galván and the Municipal President, Marco Antonio Bonilla Mendoza, a work that completes the entire South Road Distributor.

With this project, it will benefit more than 300 thousand drivers and pedestrians who circulate through this area daily, thanks to the investment of more than 220 million pesos that were allocated for the entire work in its entirety. For this tunnel alone, more than 58 million were allocated, while the rest for the overpass and the gaza, which months before the end of last year, was already open to traffic.

The state president and the mayor were accompanied by the director of Public Works, Rodolfo Armendáriz Ronquillo, who explained the technical details of the construction, which has a length of 450 meters with two lanes that continuously cross Nueva España Avenue, freeing the crossing of those traveling on Fuentes Mares Boulevard in the direction from South to North, in addition to allowing left turns at this intersection.

Also present was the Secretary of Communication and Public Works of the State, Jorge Ignacio Chanez Peña; the trustee, Olivia Franco Barragán, federal and local deputies, as well as councilors of the City Council.

The work has signage and lighting within the underpass, as well as painted division of the lanes.

For a few weeks now, the confined lane of the “Bowí” Collective Transportation System has already been working and even the station under the overpass.
