Gaza War: An Israeli raid targets ambulances in front of Al-Shifa Hospital
The Israeli military said Friday that it targeted an ambulance at the entrance to the main Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, saying it was “being used by a Hamas terrorist cell.”
According to the director of the Hamas government communications office in Gaza, the bombing targeted a convoy of ambulances that was preparing to transport the wounded from Al-Shifa Hospital towards the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.
WHO Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he was “deeply shocked.” The Ministry of Health in the Strip says that 16 out of a total of 35 hospitals in the Gaza Strip are out of service, either because they were bombed or because they lack fuel to operate their generators.
