Israel Hamas War: Under the agreement with Israel, Hamas has released 25 hostages. These hostages include 12 Thai and 13 Israeli citizens. Hamas terrorists had taken many people hostage during their sudden attack on Israel on October 7. They had taken them to Gaza and had set a condition for their release later. Thai Prime Minister Shretha Thavisin wrote in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ that 12 Thai hostages have been released from Gaza and embassy officials are on their way to pick them up. The names and other details of the released hostages will be known soon, he said.

According to the report of Israeli news website i24NEWS, 13 Israeli hostages have also been released by Hamas and Hamas has handed them over to the Red Cross. The released hostages are heading towards the Rafah crossing. Earlier, a four-day ceasefire under the agreement between Israel and Hamas came into effect on Friday morning. There have been no reports of clashes hours after the ceasefire. The diplomatic breakthrough brings some relief to the 2.3 million people in Gaza who have endured weeks of Israeli bombardment. It is also a relief news for families in Israel who are worried about their loved ones captured during the October 7 Hamas attack.

However, Israel has said it is committed to resuming large-scale attacks once the ceasefire ends. Israel said four tankers of fuel and four tankers of cooking gas cylinders entered the Gaza Strip from Egypt shortly after the ceasefire came into effect. Israel has agreed to supply 1,30,000 liters of fuel per day during the ceasefire. However, this is a small portion compared to Gaza’s daily requirement of more than 1 million litres. Israel had blocked fuel supplies to Gaza during the last seven weeks of the war. He claimed that Hamas could use it for military purposes.

On October 7, Hamas terrorists attacked Israel. At that time, more than 1400 Israeli civilians were murdered, while many were taken hostage. After this, Israel retaliated by calling it a war and continuously fired missiles at the Gaza Strip. A large number of Hamas terrorists have been killed. However, civilians have also been victims of Israeli attacks. The total number of deaths in Gaza has reached more than 15 thousand.
