Chandigarh/Panchkula 20 November (Trinew/हप्र)
A new dispute has started between Chandigarh and Haryana in the matter of not admitting the children of Panchkula to schools by the Union Territory Chandigarh administration. Punjab is already opposing the Chandigarh decision. Speaker of Haryana Vidhan Sabha Gyan Chand Gupta has written a letter to Chandigarh Administrator and Governor of Punjab appealing to take a decision in this matter.
Children from Panchkula and Mohali are not being admitted to nursery classes this year in Chandigarh administration schools. Chandigarh is the capital of Haryana and Punjab. Apart from this, Mohali, Chandigarh and Panchkula have been marked as tri-city. The phone STD code of these three cities is also the same. Apart from this there is connectivity in all three cities. The Chandigarh administration has refused to admit the children of Panchkula for the academic session 2024-25. Thousands of people are worried about this. On Monday Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker and Panchkula MLA Gyan Chand Gupta wrote a letter to Chandigarh administration Banwari Lal Purohit objecting to the education department’s notification.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta said that this decision of the Chandigarh Education Department is completely against the right to education. Right to education should not be divided into sectors. This will violate the right to education of the innocent children of Panchkula and Mohali. He cited the National Education Policy and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is implementing an education policy in the entire country.
