Haryana has achieved a significant achievement in the Nationwide Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. For this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the state a National Award. Haryana has been ranked third in the country on the basis of programs organized under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The award was received by Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal from Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the closing ceremony of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Amrit Kalash Yatra in New Delhi on Tuesday.

A jury was constituted to select the best performing States and Union Territories for Amrit Awards. After considering the overall criteria the jury recommended Haryana as the third best performing state in the country. The Department of Information, Public Relations and Language was designated as the nodal department in the state for organizing programs under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi.

Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, after receiving the award, said that to mark the completion of 75 years of the country’s independence, two years of Independence Day celebrations were held across the country along with the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign, which culminated today. This monumental event was organized as a tribute to the sacrifices and contributions of those who fought for India’s freedom and worked tirelessly to build a self-reliant nation.

He said that under the able leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Manohar Lal, a large number of programs were organized in the state under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi from March 12, 2021 to October 31, 2023 and their details were also uploaded on the website dedicated to the festival. . Dr. Amit Agarwal, Director General of Information, Public Relations and Language Department and Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister said that more than 50 thousand programs were organized in Haryana under the festival, which were posted on the website of the festival and about 31 thousand of them were on the website.
