New Delhi. Former Indian Kapil Dev has said a big thing about Virat Kohli’s poor form. Kapil said that as a former player, he has the right to question the performance of a player, if that performance is not according to his stature and status. Kapil often openly expresses his opinion about Kohli’s poor form. He has also come under the target of people many times regarding this. But, the former Indian all-rounder insisted that it would not be easy to silence others if players do not score runs at the international level or perform as they are expected to.
Kapil Dev said on the uncut, “I have not played as much cricket as Virat Kohli. But sometimes you may not have played much cricket. But, you can figure things out. We have also played cricket and understand the game. They have to improve their thoughts. If you prove us wrong with your game, we’ll accept it. If you don’t score runs, then we will feel that something is wrong somewhere. We only see one thing and that is your performance and if it is not good then don’t expect people to be silent at all. Your bat and your performance should speak, nothing more.”
Kohli’s poor form is worrying: Kapil Dev
The former Indian captain further said that it hurts to think of a big player like Kohli not scoring a century for so long. Kohli had last scored a century in November 2019. That is, it has been more than 2 years since he scored a century. Kapil feels that Kohli’s form is not only a matter of concern for him but also for Team India.
‘We are all troubled by Kohli’s poor form’
He said, “It makes me sad to see such a big player (Kohli) waiting for a century. He is like a hero to us. We never thought that we will see a player who can be compared to Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar or Virender Sehwag. But then he came, and forced us to make comparisons and now that he is struggling with scoring runs for the last two years, it has bothered all of us.

Even in IPL 2022, Kohli’s bat remained silent. He was rested for the home T20 series against South Africa. After a short break, Kohli will first be seen playing a four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire and then the one-off Test against England to be held at Edgbaston from July 1. The fifth Test between India and England could not be held last year due to Corona, which was rescheduled for India’s tour of England this year.
