IND vs ENG: Shubman Gill’s bat becomes silent against England, records testify themselves

New Delhi. The rescheduled 5th Test match of the series between India and England is being played at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Batting first after losing the toss in the match, the Indian team got off to a very poor start. In fact, both the openers of the team returned to the pavilion on the score of 53 till lunch. The game was stopped after 20.1 overs on the first day due to rain, when former captain Virat Kohli 1 and Hanuma Vihari were at the crease after scoring 14 runs off 46 balls.

In the absence of Shubman Gill (17) and Rohit Sharma, the players who got out in the first innings for India are experienced batsman Cheteshwar Pujara (13), who came to open the innings. The Indian team had a lot of hope from these two players today, but both the batsmen could not live up to the expectations of the team. Young batsman Gill’s bat is as if it stops against England. Recently, he has played 5 matches against the English team so far. During this, only one half-century has come out of his bat in eight innings.
