Many programs were organized in the city on Sunday on the occasion of Ranbir Singh’s birth anniversary and Constitution Day. On this occasion, former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda paid tribute to Chaudhary Ranbir Singh by offering flowers at the Samadhi site in village Khedisadh. He said that Chaudhary Ranbir Singh Hooda considered the Constitution as the biggest achievement. The Constitution has given equal rights and freedom of expression to every citizen of the country. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all of us to protect the Constitution and the independence of the country. He told that Ch. Ranbir Singh was born on 26 November 1914 and it is a happy coincidence that Constitution Day is also celebrated on this day. He is proud that his father was imprisoned in 8 different British jails during the struggle for the country’s independence. Of these, 4 jails are in India today and 4 have gone to Pakistan. Even after independence Ch. Ranbir Singh’s life was dedicated to the country and society. After the independence of the country, he became the youngest member of the Constituent Assembly. It is also a matter of pride for the state that he was the only member of the Constituent Assembly from Haryana region (Punjab province). He was the first to propose MSP for farmers in the Constituent Assembly in 1948.

He told that Ranbir Singh Hooda has been a member of seven different houses in the history of democracy. This achievement of his is also recorded in the Limca Book of World Records. Also, while holding the post of minister in the governments of Haryana and Punjab, he made invaluable contribution to the development of the country. Bhakra Nangal Dam Project as Ch. Ranbir Singh played an important role in the construction of India’s first dam, which provided perennial water supply to farmers. Ch. Ranbir Singh Hooda was a strong advocate of social equality.

On this occasion, Congress State President Udaybhan, MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra, Geeta Bhukkal, former MLA Anand Singh Dangi, Ajay Singhania, Yashpal Panwar, Sandeep Kharkiya, Anil Dhankhar, MP Sangwan, Kuldeep KD were prominently present.
