Karnataka: Journalists stopped for not wearing Sangh uniform for RSS event

During a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) event in Kalaburagi, three media persons were not allowed inside the venue as they did not come wearing the Sangh’s uniform.

The three journalists had gone to cover the event. Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat had attended the event.

According to the Times of India news, on Thursday, two journalists of local language dailies and a photographer had gone to cover the annual Sankranti festival of the Sangh and they were in normal clothes. He was stopped by the Sangh workers at the entrance itself.

There was also a dispute between the three media persons and the Sangh workers on this, but the Sangh workers remained adamant on their insistence.

In this regard, Krishna Joshi, the intellectual head of the North Province of the Sangh, says that the media was not sent an official call, but the local Sangh workers told the media persons that they can cover the event if they come in Sangh’s uniform.

He said that even the Sangh workers who did not come in uniform were turned back. Media reporters who came in uniform were allowed to cover the event.

Vijay Mahatesh, a campaigner of Kalaburgi, admitted that he had asked all the journalists to come in uniform for the Sankranti event.
