Under the program of providing canal water to every farm of the state for irrigation, the Water Resources Department is strengthening the canal infrastructure and efforts are on to provide canal water to more and more area. Fulfilling the demand of farmers of Fatehgarh Sahib and Ludhiana district, Khanna Rajbahe of Ludhiana district will be paved at a cost of Rs 82.65 crore. This information was given by Punjab Water Resources Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer. He said that currently 175 cusecs of water is released in Khanna Rajbahe, covering an area of ​​72202 acres and there is a plan to increase its capacity to 251.34 cusecs, for which it is being made concrete. He further informed that the Khanna Rajbaha system originates from Samrala Major of Bhakra Main Line, taking the total length to 97.48 kilometers. This Rajbaha system provides irrigation to many villages of district Fatehgarh Sahib and Ludhiana through Sangatpura Minor, Kotla Minor, Bardhal Minor, Lalheri Minor, Birkishan Minor and Narayangarh Minor.
