Layer’s Shot spray ad alleges “promoting rape mentality”

A big controversy has arisen over two advertisements of Layer’s shot body spray ad of body spray brand Layer. People allege that through this the mentality of rape is being promoted.

Four men are having a conversation at a store in an advertisement. When they see the girl standing near Layer’s perfume and comment.

The second ad begins with a couple in the bedroom. Four of the boy’s friends enter the room and ask double-meaning questions.

People asked questions on Twitter 

Several users on Twitter described the brand as being scary and promoting rape. One user wrote, “How does this kind of ads get approved, sick and outright disgusting. Is @layerr_shot full of perverts?.

Another user wrote that “@layerr_shot take these ads back. It shows rape culture. Sony Liv please stop airing these ads,”

One user wrote that, “Shame on each and every one of you who thought of, wrote, produced, acted and approved the new Layer Shot commercials.”

Another user Monica Manchanda wrote, “There have to be some regulations for ads man. That Shot deo ad is nothing short of disgusting actually. Even though I knew it was an ad and it wouldn’t happen. The fear for a second I felt was real. Imagine making an ad on the fears of millions of women!.”

These advertisements are being broadcast on Sony Liv during the first test match between England vs New Zealand.
