Lok Sabha elections: Congress releases sixth list of 5 candidates, ticket to Gunjal against Birla from Kota

In the sixth list of five candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, Congress has made Ramchandra Choudhary from Ajmer in Rajasthan, Sudarshan Rawat from Rajsamand, Damodar Gurjar from Bhilwara, Prahlad Gunjal from Kota and C Robert Brute from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu.

Congress on Monday released its sixth list of five candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, in which the most prominent name is that of Prahlad Gunjal, who has been fielded against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla from Kota parliamentary seat of Rajasthan. Gunjal had recently left Bharatiya Janata Party and joined Congress.

Congress has announced candidates for four seats in Rajasthan and one seat in Tamil Nadu in its sixth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. Congress has fielded Ramchandra Chaudhary from Ajmer in Rajasthan, Sudarshan Rawat from Rajsamand, Dr. Damodar Gurjar from Bhilwara, Prahlad Gunjal from Kota and C. Robert Brute from Tirunelveli seat in Tamil Nadu.

Earlier on Sunday, Congress had released the fifth list of three candidates in which former minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas was given the ticket in place of the previously announced candidate Sunil Sharma from Jaipur Lok Sabha constituency. Congress has so far announced 190 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. It had declared 39 candidates in the first list, 43 in the second list and 56 in the third list.

Elections for the 18th Lok Sabha in the country will start from April 19. After this, voting will be held in six more phases on 26 April, 7 May, 13 May, 20 May, 25 May and 1 June. About 97 crore registered voters in 543 constituencies of Lok Sabha will be able to exercise their franchise at 10.5 lakh polling stations. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
