Marcelo Ebrard This Monday he launched his civil association “El Camino de México” with the invitation to his supporters to organize throughout the country, and stated that “I will not let them down”; announced that starting next Wednesday it will begin nationwide tours, to add support to this movement.
He said that for now he will remain in Morena, as he hopes that his party will resolve the challenge he presented against the process in which Claudia Sheinbaum won the coordination of the Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, and ratified that the decision to abandon that party will depend on how its leadership responds.
Before nearly a thousand people, amid shouts of “president, president!”, the former Secretary of Foreign Affairs clarified that it is not about creating a political party at this time, but rather a national political movement, since the times and the Electoral laws do not allow it.
“What we are forming today is a civil association, it is not a party, I clarify, because parties cannot be formed right now. Why do we form an association? Because it is the way we organize ourselves; “We are a political movement, that is what we are, but we need to have our own form of organization,” he said.

During the private meeting in the Ajusco area, in Mexico City, where senators, federal and local deputies attended, he denounced that many of his followers who have a representative position are spoken to to ask them to no longer attend his events.
After stating that “they are not going to double them,” he highlighted: “They already told many: ‘Hey, your senatorship or your deputation or your position?… They didn’t care, they were here.’
He added that yesterday he began collecting signatures to create his national movement. “Officially we are recognized that we are today a national force that represents millions of people: millions,” he said, based on the figures from Morena’s internal survey.
“That is easy to say, but each and every one of you knows what it means, because all of this is due to the fact that those millions of people see that we represent their desires, their aspirations, and they agree with us on a fundamental idea, which is the greatness of Mexico,” he emphasized.
He explained that it was agreed to integrate the association into five multi-member constituencies, with the purpose of each person responsible being in charge of seeking followers, as well as reporting the agreements made from the center.
The representatives are Carlos Candelaria, Adela Muñiz, Luz María Rodríguez, Jorge Corichi and Luis Salomón. Additionally, he appointed Jesús Valdés in charge of representation in CDMX and Alberto Esteva in the State of Mexico.
“All the decisions we make – we are waiting for Morena’s response regarding the challenge we presented – all the decisions we make will be as a movement; They are no longer individuals, it is no longer Marcelo Ebrard, it is now that whole movement. Because? Because we are millions of people throughout the country,” he said.
Finally, he asked his followers to be temperate in the face of uncertainty: “We should not rush. “You have to be firm, have cold blood, a cold mind, a very committed heart and character.”
