Microsoft 365 Copilot officially launched at €30 per month

The Microsoft 365 suite can now benefit from the benefits of Copilot in Europe and the United States. The publisher today launched functions powered by artificial intelligence for its various office applications, against an additional paid subscription.

The Copilot functions of Microsoft 365, which had been tested for several months by a handful of companies, are accessible in Europe and the company’s main markets since Wednesday, November 1. The price is just under €30 per month per user, a rate that is added to the standard paid subscription to the office suite. Please note, only companies that have subscribed to the E3 and E5 plans can obtain access to Copilot. SMEs will have to wait a few more months.

Help for businesses

One of the Copilot features highlighted by the publisher is Microsoft 365 Chat (formerly Business Chat), which presents itself as an assistant that goes beyond answers to generic questions. It will in fact dig into the user’s professional data, emails, meetings and work documents to manage complex or tedious tasks. This could be booking a trip, summarizing emails or even writing documents.

But Copilot will also lend a hand in Microsoft 365 applications, whether Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. For example, AI will be able to take inspiration from your way of writing to write messages, summarize documents and rewrite paragraphs, generate a table, analyze and format data, quickly add a formula in a spreadsheet column, to use data in Python… For the asking price, it will be necessary to demonstrate the productivity gains of this new package of functions.

Currently, Microsoft limits its Copilot to businesses; in other words, the general public will not be entitled to it, at least not immediately. The average user is not forgotten, however, since a version of Copilot is about to land in Windows 11.
