Haryana Staff Selection Commission has given information about the formula for calling more than four times candidates in Group C recruitment. The Commission has filed an affidavit in this regard in the Punjab-Haryana High Court.
According to Commission Chairman Bhopal Singh Khadri, only one candidate has been considered eligible for more than one category in a group. The Commission has said that if the selection is made according to each category, only the meritorious candidates will be repeated again and again. So others have been given a chance for the other category on behalf of the Commission. On this basis, the commission has called four times the candidates. After selecting four times the candidates, if there is a shortage of candidates in any category then the candidates who are more than that category are adjusted on the basis of merit. Hence shortlisting is done based on the notification of more than four times as many candidates in the group. If more than four times the candidates are not taken in the group then there is a possibility that there will be no competition. The commission said in its appeal that the single bench judge said that the list of candidates appearing in the examination should be made public so that it is known who they are competing against. This observation of the single bench will not affect the conduct of the examination in any way. The name identity of the candidate with whom he is competing cannot affect the result of the examination, as the examination will be passed on the basis of merit and not by name.
