India’s Ministry of External Affairs has launched the country’s first Passport Seva Service Excellence Van from Thursday to process passports in Chandigarh. Currently this scheme has been started as a pilot project in Chandigarh. These state-of-the-art 4 vans have reached Sector-34 office. 80 candidates have also applied on the first day itself. The good news for passport aspirants is that they don’t have to wait for months for fingerprinting and photographing, all the formalities of the applicant will be completed within just 7 days of registration.
The applicant has to login to the passportindia.gov.in website for the application. After the site is open, there are several procedures to apply for the application. The date will be fixed for finger print and photograph after entering the details.

Regional Passport Officer Priyanka Mehtani said that the van will remain outside the Sector-34 passport office for a few days. After this schedule will be made and they will be installed in the university, college etc. so that the nearest service can be available to the applicants. In a month, about 9000 people will be able to take advantage of the facility of making passports from the van. You can easily apply for a passport. After the police verification, the passport arrives at your home.
