MADRID, September 5 (.) –
The acting president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Pedro Rocha, met this Tuesday with his counterpart from the Higher Sports Council, Víctor Francos, to whom he explained “the structural changes” that are planned in the organization after the suspension of Luis Rubiales as a result of his kiss to forward Jenni Hermoso.
As indicated by the Council, the meeting, held at its headquarters, took place “in a very cordial atmosphere” and lasted about an hour and a quarter. “Pedro Rocha has explained to the president of the CSD the structural changes that the Royal Spanish Football Federation is planning. Likewise, they have been called for upcoming meetings on the candidacy for the 2030 World Cup,” he said.
The RFEF announced last week, after the meeting of the Commission of Territorial Presidents, its intention to urge the corresponding bodies to carry out a “deep” and “imminent organic restructuring” in strategic positions of the organization to make way for a “new stage of management” in Spanish football after everything that happened with Rubiales’ controversial kiss to Jenni Hermoso after the World Cup final on August 20.
Shortly before this meeting, the federal entity announced the dismissal of Jorge Vilda as women’s national coach and the arrival of Montse Tomé as the new head of the world champion, two of these “regeneration” measures that were announced.
It should be remembered that last Friday the Sports Administrative Court (TAD) described the kiss given without consent to the player Jenni Hermoso by Luis Rubiales as a “serious” offense, and that the CSD itself urged the body to provisionally suspend the leader. .
