The Secretariat of Comprehensive Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) of Mexico City, indicated that the incident was registered in Manuel de la Peña y Peña, in the Centro neighborhood, Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office. They recommended avoiding the area and allowing emergency personnel to pass through.
They also announced that the Civil Protection personnel evacuated a warehouse in the Centro neighborhood and that the Heroic Fire Department went to the scene to control the flame and put out the fire.

The fire caused losses of merchants’ merchandise, some of them tried to rescue their belongings, while others vendors and civilians supported the efforts to put out the fire.
