About 240 doctors (PG and JR) of Government Hospital located in Sector 32 have gone on strike and stopped the services of OPD and Ward. Only emergency services are being provided in the hospital. Due to the strike of the junior resident, the senior resident and the consultant have been employed. Patients are being seen by him in the ward and OPD, but due to the large number of patients, he is facing many kinds of problems. हालात पुर्ते देख Senior Resident’s vacations have been canceled. Vice President of Resident Doctor Association Dr. Umang Gaba said that he has received several assurances from the administration to fulfill the demands. But so far no action has been taken on it. They were forced to sit on strike. Director Principal Professor Jaswinder Kaur of Sector 32 has urged the doctors to come back from the strike.
At the same time, he said that the vacations of all consultants and senior residents have been cancelled. Vice President of Resident Doctor Association Dr. Umang Gaba said that he has received several assurances from the administration to fulfill the demands. But so far no action has been taken on it. They are forced to sit on strike. Even after the central pay scale came into force in Chandigarh from April, they are yet to get it. Now the strike will be ended only after a written assurance from the administration and a date for implementation of the demands is fixed.
