Sega announces the return of Virtua Fighter 3 to Japanese arcades

Sega has announced the return of the classic Virtua Fighter 3tb to Japanese arcades.

Using its ALL.net download system, the Japanese company will launch Virtua Fighter 3tb Online on November 28, an improved version of Virtua Fighter 3tb that adds online combat and internet rankings. Otherwise, the game will remain the same as the original published in 1997.

Along with the announcement, Sega has also published a website where Japanese players will be able to check their scores and rankings online.

At the moment it does not seem that Sega has plans to convert this new Virtua Fighter 3tb Online to PC or consoles. The last main installment of the popular fighting game franchise was Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown in 2010, which had versions for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012, and was playable in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life for PlayStation 4 in 2016. and, in 2021, it received an enhanced version, Virtual Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, also for PlayStation 4.
