Strong demand for new Kia Seltos, more than 50,000 bookings in 2 months

South Korean automobile company Kia has said that the booking of its upgraded mid-size SUV Seltos in India has crossed 50,000 units. It was launched two months ago. It is the fastest company to reach this figure in this segment.

This month, Kia has completed the delivery of four lakh units of Seltos in the country. Its total delivery has reached 5,47,000 units. The company said that more than 800 bookings are being received for this every day. Of these, 77 percent of the bookings are for the top-end variants of Seltos. Apart from this, 47 percent of the total bookings are for variants with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Kia says that 40 percent customers have booked for Seltos with diesel engine. To meet the increasing demand for the new Seltos, its production is being increased.

Seltos is the best selling model for Kia. The new Seltos has been made available in three variants – Tech Line, GT Line and X Line. Along with some changes in its design, improvements have also been made in the cabin. Apart from this, some new features have also been added to it. ADAS Level 2 technology is available in its top variant. Seltos has received good response from customers in the mid-size SUV segment. It competes with Hyundai’s Creta. Booking of the new Seltos started from July 14. The company received 13,424 bookings for it in just one day. Seltos accounts for more than half of the company’s total sales. The company had also announced ‘K-Code’ program for early delivery of the new Seltos.

In the upgraded version of this SUV, the company has given panoramic sunroof, newly designed grill and headlamps and already powerful 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine with 157 bhp. It has also been made available in the new Pewter Olive color. Kia has produced 1 million cars in India in just four years. The company has also expanded its sales and service network. Its target is to increase its market share to 10 percent with entry into new segments.
