Suno Dil Se: If the Asia Cup was being seen as a warm-up tournament before the World Cup, then needless to say that Team India has been completely successful in that effort so far.

I am here to cover the week’s cricket activities in this podcast, please accept greetings from Sanjay Banerjee. If the Asia Cup was being seen as a warm-up tournament before the World Cup, then needless to say, Team India has been completely successful in that effort so far. While the Indian batsmen against Pakistan made fun of the neighbor’s allegedly dreadful fast bowling, the bowlers forced the Pakistani batsmen to kneel down. On the other hand, Sri Lankan spinners controlled the Indian batsmen to some extent, while the bowlers brilliantly defended the score of only 213. That means India won both the matches of Super Four easily and made it to the finals.

India has to play Bangladesh on 15th September i.e. today in Colombo, the result of this match will not have any impact on anyone. India is already in the final and Bangladesh is out of Asia Cup after losing both the matches. After the Asia Cup, India has to play a three-match series against Australia and it is obvious that just before the World Cup, India will take this series against Australia seriously. In such a situation, today Team India will have the last chance, if they want to try something else in their team before the World Cup, then it can be done today.

On the other hand, on Thursday night, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan on the last ball and made it to the final of Asia Cup for the eleventh time. Even before the Asia Cup, there were speculations about thrice clash between India and Pakistan, but after last night’s thrilling clash it could not happen. In this match which was repeatedly affected by rain in Colombo, Sri Lanka had to score 252 runs while chasing according to Duckworth-Lewis rule, which it scored on the last ball. Aslanka stood firm till the end and his unbeaten 49 runs wrote a new story of victory. However, the architects of this victory were Kushal Mendis, whose 91 off 87 balls and then Sadira Samarawickrama, whose 48 runs laid the foundation of the victory. This combative batting ruined Pakistan’s valuable 86 runs off 52 balls of Abdullah Shafiq and 73 balls of Rizwan. This was a big blow for Pakistan just before the World Cup.
