For the last several years, the matter of demolition of constructions within 100 meters radius of the airport in village Bhabat of Municipal Council Zirakpur is under consideration in the Punjab Haryana High Court. In this regard, on the orders of the High Court, many buildings were demolished a few days ago, while notices were issued to some, but in the meantime, the Supreme Court on Wednesday issued an order to maintain the status quo and fixed the next hearing on October 30, 2023. Ordered. Now there is hope among the people of Bhabat village regarding this matter.

It is noteworthy that a delegation of people coming within 100 meters under the leadership of BJP leader, State Secretary and Finance Committee member Sanjeev Khanna met Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghawal and BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh regarding this matter. Earlier, Lok Sabha MP from Patiala Maharani Preneet Kaur also met Law Minister and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and informed about this issue. Realizing their pain of seeing their homes built with their lifetime’s earnings being destroyed, a delegation of Gurjit Singh, Parjit Singh, Anil Kumar, Sucha Singh, Lalit Kapoor, led by Sanjeev Khanna, was also active in this matter.

It is noteworthy that Zirakpur city had a radius of 900 meters earlier, which was later reduced to 100 meters. In this regard, an appeal was made by the Government of India in the Punjab Haryana High Court for the removal of these constructions for many years, in which orders for the removal of the constructions have been issued several times. Action has also been taken on these from time to time, but in spite of this, continuous constructions have been going on in these areas, which raises questions on the local administration.
