Will we still get the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic or can we bury the thought of it?
Last week Lars Wingefors, CEO of Embracer Group (parent company of remake developer Saber Interactive) did not want to comment on the current status of the game, now there are new concerns.
Is something else happening here?
In September, Sony, which is involved in the production, deleted the remake’s teaser due to allegedly expired music licenses.
Why don’t we hear anything more about it at the moment? According to Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, “it is not actively being worked on at this time,” citing sources close to the project.
Further news about Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake:
“Full stop, this game is currently not being worked on in any way by any studio,” he says.
The development of the remake is fraught with all sorts of problems. It was announced in September 2021, then postponed “indefinitely” in July 2022. The original developer Aspyr was withdrawn from the project and replaced by Saber Interactive’s studios in Eastern Europe.
The latest news is certainly not what fans of the game who have been looking forward to the remake want to hear. If it happens at all, it will definitely not be in the next few years.
