On the fourth day of the temporary truce in Gaza, some newspapers covered the hostage exchange and who controls it, and others addressed the positions of the Western powers on the war, 52 days after its outbreak, and newspapers presented a scenario for the day following the end of the war.

We begin with what Nisreen Malek wrote in The Guardian about “Western hypocrisy exposed by the war.”

At the beginning of her article, the author referred to the hope that images of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners reunited with their families inspire, even if the Israeli authorities try to “suppress the expressions of joy” of Palestinian families over the return of their sons and daughters.

But in her opinion, even “if a permanent ceasefire is achieved, what actually happened during the past 52 days will not be erased from memory.”
