Tonight it was reported that Jesús Octavio Pimentel Martínez was elected as the new rector of the Autonomous University of Coahuila (UAdeC) and received the certificate that accredits him as such after the plebiscite that was held this day in the faculties of the highest house of studies.
The official voting figures were 35,002 votes, of which 24,371 votes were in favor of Octavio Pimentel, which represents 69.63 percent, reported the general secretary of the university.
“Thank you all, thank you for being here with us, everyone, thank you for your commitment. I want to tell you that the campaign is over, let’s turn the page, to what happened in the campaign, now to fulfill the promises, to take the university to the next level, to privilege dialogue with all. university students, to build a better university day by day,” Pimentel said in his message.
Pimentel was the only candidate who registered for the plebiscite, however, university students could also vote for the option of a new process.
