They release a photograph of Ovidio Guzmán after his extradition to the United States

MEXICO CITY (process.com.mx).- Former DEA agent, Derek Maltz, released a photograph of Ovidio Guzmán López during his plane transfer to Chicago, one of the cities in the United States where he faces drug trafficking charges.

“Ovidio Guzmán, welcome to America, enjoy the family reunion with your father ‘El Chapo’ in a maximum security prison in the United States,” says the message that accompanies the photograph published in X by the former leader of the Special Operations Division of the United States Department of Justice.

In the image, Ovidio Guzmán is seen with short hair and glasses, wearing the prisoner’s uniform from the Altiplano maximum security prison, where he was held until his extradition.

The son of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán has his hands handcuffed and a chain is seen around his waist.

He is in the seat of a private plane and on the screen behind him you can see a map of the Chicago area, in the state of Illinois, where he was transferred.

In his message, Derek Maltz considers the extradition positive, but remembers that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published that from April 2022 to April 2023, 111,355 people died from drug overdoses, so “still It is necessary to close production capacities in Mexico.”
