Trump reveals he recently took a cognitive test

At an election rally in New Hampshire, Donald Trump claimed to have obtained “outstanding results” on a recent cognitive test, but had trouble pronouncing the word “climate,” as could be seen in footage of the event.

“I don’t know if you saw it, but a few months ago my doctor gave me a cognitive test,” said the former president.

His comments came just after former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley questioned whether the former president was mentally fit to return to office after he repeatedly confused her with the former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. US, Nancy Pelosi, in a campaign speech on Friday.

“I said, ‘Do a cognitive test for me.’ […]and I got outstanding results,” Trump added.

Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a CNN medical analyst and professor of medicine and surgery at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, wondered why Trump would need multiple cognitive tests, considering he also underwent to a cognitive test while serving as president.

“Why has Trump undergone multiple cognitive tests? According to the Cleveland Clinic, ‘cognitive testing is usually done if mental impairment is suspected,’” public Dr. Reiner on X. “Last night we saw the former president confuse Haley with Pelosi. Has she experienced other symptoms?”

In their publication on cognitive testing, the Cleveland Clinic also states that “[obtener] “A good score does not necessarily mean that there is no brain deterioration.”

In fact, on their website they point out: “There could even be problems with the functioning of the brain.”

During the same electoral event, when referring to the use of electric vehicles, the former president had difficulty vocalizing the word “climate” correctly. repeatedly.

And this was not his only lapse in recent weeks. On Thursday, she again confused President Joe Biden with former President Barack Obama. However, in his last speech, Trump claimed that he simply wanted to be sarcastic.

Last month, the word “Hamas” was also apparently confused with “hummus.”

Mistakes like these could continue to undermine his argument that Biden (81), just four years older than Trump, does not have the cognitive abilities necessary for the office.

The Independent Donald Trump’s office has been contacted for comment.
