Bihar: VIP President Mukesh Sahani sacked from Nitish cabinet, Governor stamps

VIP President Mukesh Sahani has been removed from the post of minister. The Bihar government said that after the notification issued by the Governor of Bihar, Mukesh Sahani has now been removed from the state cabinet. VIP president Mukesh Sahani is neither an MLA nor is there in the Nitish Kumar government’s cabinet.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had written a letter to Governor Fagu Chauhan recommending the removal of Mukesh Sahani from the post of minister, while the BJP had demanded it.

The BJP had offered Sahani an opportunity to resign after inducting three of his MLAs, but he turned it down, saying it was the chief minister’s prerogative to take any decision on him.

Actually, there was a tussle between Mukesh Sahani and BJP for the last several months. Mukesh Sahani’s VIP contested the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections separately from the BJP. Along with this, there was a ruckus in the NDA regarding the by-election going to be held on the Bochaha seat of Muzaffarpur in Bihar. After the death of Mukesh Sahani’s MLA Musafir Paswan, a by-election is to be held on Bochaha seat, but from here BJP has fielded its candidate, due to which Mukesh Sahani and BJP came face to face.

Recently, all the three MLAs of Sahani’s party have switched to BJP. Mukesh Sahani had said in a statement on this whole matter that he would not resign from the post of minister and said that this decision is in the hands of Nitish Kumar.
