The petition committee of Haryana Assembly reached Yamunanagar regarding issues like garbage collection, street lights, Amrut Yojana, Golden Jubilee Gate in Yamunanagar Municipal Corporation. In this, seven MLAs visited different areas of Yamunanagar. While talking to the media, Chairman of the Petition Committee and MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora, former ministers Geeta Bhukkal, Vishambhar Valmiki said that Yamunanagar Corporation had to construct the river front and park at Hamida Head.
Rules were not followed in the construction of Swarna Jayanti Park. Garbage collection from the garbage plant in Cal was not done properly. There has been misuse of funds in Amrut Yojana. Ghanshyam Das said that the corporation officials assured that they will do the work properly soon. He said that the responsibilities of these officers should be fixed and the time should be fixed. Bhukkal said that the corporation’s matter has been with the petition committee for two years. Surprisingly, the situation here has gone from bad to worse. Some work has definitely been done. In the matter of garbage collection and the matter of Swarna Jayanti Park, it was nothing less than good. He said one agency was blacklisted and then reinstated. We are not satisfied with this. There should be a time limit. Additional Chief Secretary, Director etc. should also be held responsible if they do not act on time. MLAs Leela Ram, Sanjay Singh, Ramniwas, Shakuntala Khatak were also included in the committee. The chairman of the committee asked the corporation officials that why the Veer Savarkar Swarn Jayanti Park was not handed over even after 5 years, what did the Municipal Corporation do for this park? The committee members visited the vacant land of Municipal Corporation in Hamida near the canal and inspected it and said that there are still heaps of filth on this land. It has not been cleaned by the Municipal Corporation. For this, ACS Vikas Gupta said that a good park will be built here by the Municipal Corporation. The committee members said that work should be done on this immediately. Commissioner Municipal Corporation Ayush Sinha said that his effort is to lay the foundation stone of this park by the end of December.
