Sonipat, 1 December
A war of words has once again erupted between Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the former President of the Indian Wrestling Association, and the wrestlers who were protesting against him in Delhi. This war is through social media
It has started.
Brij Bhushan shared a video clip on social media. In this he is heard saying, ‘Those who had leveled allegations against me, now go to Haryana and see how much respect they have. No one calls them. His followers have decreased. When he used to go to any program, he was given a farewell fee of Rs 5 lakh, but today he is not invited to any program. He also said, ‘I get calls from Haryana, calls come from everywhere, we also go. Not ours, but their respect has decreased. I faced, the media which was against me also turned away. Brij Bhushan is saying in the video uploaded on ‘X’ that he sat on dharna on January 18, after which there was a break. I have submitted an audio clip to the committee formed by the Sports Ministry. In this audio a gentleman is saying something about him. They also talk about giving money. After about 4 months the same people came again with new preparations. Gave a complaint. He is also seen making many personal allegations against the wrestlers in the video. He is saying, ‘No photo, no video, no audio and no telephone record. Just hang him.
In response to Singh’s post, Olympian wrestler Bajrang Punia wrote on ‘X’ that the misfortune of this country is that power is in the hands of people who are openly making fun of survivors of sexual harassment. They are praising themselves as if they are freedom fighters. If you go among the public in Haryana, the people themselves will answer. It would be better if you announce it once and come among the people. Well, one should not get so nervous before going to jail… Brijbhushan Singh.
