With the overwhelming success of the film Barbie, by Greta Gerwig, many of the actors and actresses who participated in the film were accompanied by their respective partners on the red carpet (sometimes pink). Such is the case of Margot Robbie, who was seen with her husband, the British producer and actor, Tom Ackerley.
It was not the case of Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken in the film. It is known that, since 2011 when the film was released The Place Beyond the Pine From director Derek Cianfrance, Ryan met his current sentimental partner, actress Eva Mendes, who also had a leading role in the production.
A year later, in 2012, the only photograph in which the couple has been seen parading at a gala was at the Toronto Film Festival, promoting the aforementioned film. After that event, the couple has not been seen posing together, a topic Mendes addressed in one of his Instagram posts months ago.
The actress shared an image on her Instagram account on April 6, in which she appears next to Gosling in a scene from the film The Place Beyond the Pine. The snapshot read: “The magic is real. We didn’t meet at the set. The magic started long before, but here’s a bit of magic caught on camera. Thanks to the amazing director Derek Cianfrance.”
The followers of both Mendes and Gosling were quick to express one of their great wishes: to see them together again in public, perhaps showing their love and admiration.
“Eva, I want to be honest with you. I really hope that Barbie I made it through awards season just to see you with Ryan. I know, I’m selfish and probably a dreamer, but I’ll never stop dreaming about it,” said a netizen.
“What a great comment!” replied Mendes. “Thank you, but we don’t do those things together. Like these photos that I’ve been posting, I only feel comfortable sharing them because they’re already there, they’re public.”
Gosling, for his part, hinted that his relationship with Eva Mendes is stronger than ever. A few weeks ago, at the premiere gala of Barbie In Los Angeles, California, she wore a necklace with the letter “E” in pink, with the same font as the film’s logo. A wink for his wife? I think so! That Ken is not available.
Mendes and Gosling have two daughters, Esmeralda Amada, 8, and Amada Lee, 7.
