Robert Oppenheimer says at the beginning of the trailer, ‘This is a national emergency’, then he prepares to test the first atomic bomb. A few shots later, the audience is shown the name they have been waiting to see on screen for the last three years after the release of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. The trailer immediately cuts to a black shot, showing Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) walking past reporters and photographers amid his voiceover, where he justifies the move to test a nuclear weapon.

The film’s star cast includes Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, and many more, playing characters based on real-life people who contributed to the Manhattan Project in some way. Oppenheimer and Lieutenant General Leslie Richard Groves Jr. are shown initially justifying the move.
Where will the film be released?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan and Oscar-nominated cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema have given “Oppenheimer” a distinct visual style that includes IMAX cameras and stark black-and-white cinematography. The film will be released in all premium large formats including IMAX 70mm, 70mm and Dolby Cinema.
