Raipur Police arrested Kalicharan Maharaj from Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh for his alleged inflammatory speech against Mahatma Gandhi at the ‘Dharma Sansad’. A case was registered against him at Tikrapara police station in Raipur.
Raipur SP Prashant Agarwal told, “Kalicharan Maharaj was living in a rented house near Bageshwar Dham, 25 km from Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. Raipur Police arrested him at 4 am today. The police team will reach Raipur with the accused till late evening.”
Home Minister Narottam Mishra raised objection
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has objected to the arrest of Kalicharan, he said that we have an objection to the arrest of Kalicharan, the federal rule does not allow this at all. It is wrong to arrest without informing the Madhya Pradesh Police. I have given instructions to the DGP of Madhya Pradesh to talk to the Chhattisgarh DGP about this.
Sant Kalicharan Das gave controversial statement
